World Book Day 2007

Thursday March 1st is World Book Day and 2007 marks the tenth year of this annual event promoting the enjoyment of books and reading.

KGV library is also running a “10 favourite books” competition. List the 10 books (title and author) you can’t live without and tell us about your number 1 book. Why is it at the top of your list; is it a life-changing story or a rollicking good read?

Enter the competition by clicking on “comments” below. If you want to be in the running for a prize, choose “other” and type your name or student number in the name box. The deadline is noon on Monday 5th February. This competition is open to all students and staff!

Chinese New Year

With Chinese New Year coming up, here are some web sites you might like to visit:

• Chiff.com has some history, information about the Chinese zodiac and some prediction for pigs in 2007, as well as links to CNY events around the world.
  
• Stange Horizons Fiction has a weird Year of the Pig short story.
• Chinese Zodiac Online for predictions for all the zodiac animals - just for fun!
